Tewksbury, Massachusetts (February 10, 2010) In response to the rescue of nearly 100 starving sled dogs that were saved from the Pawsatrak Racing Sled Dog kennel near Hartsel, CO, the WellPet Foundation has donated 1,650 pounds of Eagle Pack^® dog food to help with their recovery.

Local pet specialty retailer Buster’s Natural Pet Supply in Conifer, CO distributed the Eagle Pack food on behalf of the WellPet Foundation to the Intermountain Humane Society, Park County Animal Control, Ark -Valley Humane Society, Odaroloc Sled Dogs and Leadville Humane Society, each of whom are providing care and respite to the rescued dogs.

The WellPet Foundation supports these limited resource facilities that want to do the very best for pets that provide us with unconditional love, trust and companionship.  Because of the WellPet donation, the sled dogs can now begin to have healthy, happy and long lives while being fed the best nutrition.

“Thanks in large part to Eagle Pack, the four rescued Alaskan Huskies we have taken in have not only gained weight, but their coats are growing shiny and full and they have more energy. They now look up at me and other people without fear in their eyes,” said TC Wait, of Odaroloc Sled Dogs.
